The WRA boys varsity volleyball team picked up an impressive 3–1 road win over Mayfield on May 5.
WRA opened the match with a strong 25–19 victory in the first set before Mayfield answered with a 25–18 win in the second. The Pioneers regained momentum in the third set, taking it 25–18, and then battled through a tightly contested fourth set to secure the match with a 26–24 win.
Luke Kolencik '29 led the offense with an outstanding 38 assists, helping keep WRA's attack balanced throughout the match. Jayden Kersh '26 paced the offense with 19 kills and added four aces from the service line, while Finn Frato-Sweeney '26 contributed 10 kills.
Defensively, libero Evan Sun '26 anchored the back row with 22 perfect serve receive passes and led the team in digs.
With the win, WRA continues to build momentum heading into its next matchup on Wednesday, May 6, at home against Walsh.
