The WRA boys varsity lacrosse team came up just short in a competitive battle on the road, falling 9–8 to Culver Academies on April 19.
WRA started strong, jumping out to a 2–0 lead after the first quarter. Culver responded in the second, taking a 5–2 lead into halftime. The Eagles extended their advantage in the third quarter, but WRA stayed within striking distance, trailing 8–3 heading into the final frame.
The Pioneers mounted an impressive comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring five goals to close the gap to one, but ultimately ran out of time in the 9–8 loss.
Tano Auriuso '26 led the offensive effort with a standout six-goal performance, while Carter Kaufman '29 contributed two assists to help generate scoring opportunities.
Despite the result, WRA showed resilience and fight down the stretch and will look to bounce back in its next game on Monday, April 20, at home against Riverside High School.
