Western Reserve Academy Boys Varsity Volleyball opened the season in impressive fashion with a 3–0 home victory over Nordonia on March 31. The Pioneers earned the sweep with set scores of 25–23, 25–20, and 28–26 in a tightly contested match from start to finish.
It was a strong opening performance for WRA, highlighted by the varsity debuts of three freshmen—Ryan Bonomo '29, Ethan Ntatin '29, and Mark Kyei '29—who all made immediate impacts.
Evan Sun '26 anchored the defense with 19 digs and outstanding serve receive, setting the tone for the Pioneers' consistency. Bonomo added an all-around effort with 10 digs and 9 kills, while Ntatin delivered a standout offensive performance with 12 kills and two aces.
Finn Frato-Sweeney '26 was a force at the net, finishing with 6 blocks, 2 aces, and 7 kills, and Grant Adams '26 contributed key serve receive and added 8 digs to support the defensive effort.
WRA will look to carry this momentum into their next match on Thursday, April 2, when they host Cuyahoga Falls.
