Pioneers Dominate St. Mary’s in Season Road Win

The Western Reserve Academy Boys Lacrosse (Prep) team delivered an impressive performance on the road Saturday, defeating St. Mary's Annapolis 16–6.

The Pioneers came out firing, building a 7–2 lead in the first quarter and carrying that momentum throughout the game. Reserve continued to control the pace in the second quarter, extending the lead to 10–3 at halftime. The strong play continued into the second half, with the Pioneers stretching the advantage to 15–4 heading into the final quarter before closing out the 16–6 victory.

Kellen Bladon '27 led the offensive attack with six goals, consistently finding space and finishing with confidence. Hunter Harris '26 added five goals of his own, contributing to a balanced and efficient offensive effort.

At the faceoff X, Gentry Curtis '27 was dominant, winning 83% of his draws and giving the Pioneers a significant edge in possession throughout the game. Defensively, Zane McGruder '27 made a strong impact, forcing two key turnovers that helped shift momentum at critical moments.

The Pioneers will look to carry their momentum into their next matchup on Tuesday, March 17, when they travel to take on Archbishop Spalding.
