The WRA Girls Varsity Soccer team hosted Columbus Academy on Saturday, September 6, and came up just short in a tightly contested 2–1 defeat.

The Pioneers struck first when Gabby Palache '27 finished a setup from Maddie McNamara '27 to put WRA on the board. Columbus Academy answered quickly and held a 2–1 advantage at halftime. Both teams battled through a scoreless second half, with goalkeeper Sydney Swiderski '29 making three key saves to keep WRA within striking distance.

Despite strong play and relentless effort, the Pioneers were unable to find the equalizer.

WRA returns to action on Monday, September 8, when they host Solon at 7:00 p.m. under the lights.
