WRA Girls Soccer delivered a strong performance on the road against state runner-up and current state-ranked Columbus Academy, battling the Vikings to a 0-0 draw.
The Pioneers controlled much of the game offensively, outshooting Columbus Academy 12-2 and striking the goalpost three times in a relentless effort to find the back of the net. Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities, the Pioneers were unable to break through for the winning goal.
Defensively, WRA was outstanding against a fast and tenacious Vikings attack. Sydney Swiderski '28 recorded two saves, while the Pioneer back line of Hadley Bennett '29, Tessa Freeman '29, Nikki Priban '29, and Zoe Kusuma '27 led a stellar defensive effort to secure the shutout.
The Pioneers continue to build on an impressive season, moving to 12-2-3 with another strong showing against top-level competition.
WRA will look to keep the momentum going next week when the Pioneers travel to take on the Solon Comets on Wednesday, October 14, at 7 p.m.
