WRA Girls Soccer Battles Hard in 3–1 Loss at Gilmour

The WRA Varsity Girls Soccer team put forth a strong effort on the road Thursday but fell 3–1 to Gilmour Academy. The match was tightly contested in the first half, with the teams heading into the break tied 1–1.

Maddie McNamara '27 provided the lone goal for the Pioneers, finishing a well-earned chance to keep WRA level at halftime. In the second half, Gilmour capitalized on their opportunities to pull away, despite several defensive stands from the Pioneers.

Goalkeeper Sydney Swiderski '28 turned in a standout performance, recording a season-high 10 saves to keep her team in the match. Her efforts, along with determined play across the field, highlighted the Pioneers' resilience.

WRA returns to action on Saturday, September 20, when they travel to Shady Side Academy.
