Baseball Falls to Independence Despite Strong Start

The Baseball team traveled to face Independence on April 11, jumping out to an early lead but ultimately falling 7–11 in a hard-fought contest.

WRA came out strong at the plate, putting up early runs and setting the pace. However, Independence responded with consistent execution and timely hitting, while holding the Pioneers' offense in check through the later innings.

The game featured a varsity pitching debut for Kenneth Arter '26, who threw 4.1 innings, allowing 6 hits, 5 earned runs, 5 walks and recording 2 strikeouts. Ben Ross '26 also made his season debut on the mound, delivering 1.2 clean innings with 3 hits, no earned runs, no walks and 1 strikeout.

While the final score wasn't in WRA's favor, the outing included several promising individual performances and valuable experience for the young pitching staff.
