On day two of the Girls Hoop Series National Prep Ohio Qualifier, WRA took on a very strong Orangeville Prep team out of Canada.
With the girls looking to carry over momentum from Friday's nights win, Orangeville opened up the game on a 9-4 run despite strong defense from the Pioneers. Offensively, the girls got some great looks, but could not seem to get anything to fall. WRA chipped away, capped off by a three pointer by
Jordyn Steindl '25, getting the Pioneers within one point after the first quarter. Orangeville opened up the second quarter with the same energy they used to build an early lead sat the start of the game, comfortably leading the Pioneers by 8 points throughout the entire quarter. The Bears led 28-20 at halftime.
The girls rallied around each other and opened the second half off with a bang, starting the first three and a minutes on a 12-2 run, capped off by an
Islay Moore '25 offensive rebound for a layup to give The Pioneers their first lead of the game. The duo of
Sheridan Oberhand '25 and
Brooklyn Hall '26 both sparked a nice run, giving WRA a 42-38 lead entering the 4th.
A quick 6-0 run by
Emerie Davis '27, Hall, and Oberhand gave WRA a double digit lead, and they coasted from there, winning the game 64-55, and bringing the winning streak to four games.
