Last night, the WRA Girls' Soccer team staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Gilmour Academy 4-2 in an tough away match. After falling behind 2-1 in the first half due to some early defensive lapses, the Pioneers regrouped and executed a strong second-half performance. Ky Hau-Golden '25 opened the scoring for WRA with a well-placed shot, following a precise pass from Maddie McNamara '27. The team maintained possession effectively for the remainder of the half, laying the groundwork for their comeback.

In the second half, WRA displayed impressive teamwork and resilience. Ky Hau-Golden netted her second goal through a clever give-and-go with MacKenzie Foster '27, followed shortly by Maddie McNamara scoring from a corner kick assisted by Lilly Morgan '27. Ky capped off her outstanding night with a third goal, again set up by McNamara, showcasing their strong connection on the field. The team's commitment to their style of play and strong defensive efforts limited Gilmour's chances, with Lydia Lockwood '25 and Gabby Palache '27 playing pivotal roles in both disrupting Gilmour's attacks and initiating their own. WRA will look to carry this momentum into their next match at home against Erie Prep Academy on October 11.
