The Pioneers fought hard throughout the match, but Walsh took control early, winning the first set 25-15. WRA showed resilience in the second set, improving their performance but still losing 25-18. In a closely contested third set, the Pioneers rallied but were edged out 25-23, sealing the match for Walsh.
Despite the defeat, there were standout performances from several players. Madi Vincent '26 was recognized for her positivity and enthusiasm, earning the spirit ball. Mia Maze-Ingram '25 contributed significantly with 8 service points, while Riley Brainerd '28 led the team in assists, showcasing her playmaking abilities. The team will look to regroup and bounce back as they prepare for their next match against Brooklyn High School at home on Wednesday, September 25.
