Girls Volleyball Faces Mixed Results at Tournament

On September 21, the WRA Girls Varsity Volleyball team participated in a tournament against Orange, Maple Heights, and Brush, experiencing a mix of results. They struggled in their opening match against Orange, losing in straight sets with scores of 13-25 and 18-25. However, the Pioneers rebounded strongly in their next two matches, dominating Maple Heights with a convincing 2-0 victory (25-8, 25-16) and continuing their winning streak against Brush, winning again 2-0 with scores of 25-15 and 25-11.

Several players stood out during the tournament, with Delaney Pittinger '26, Maria Moran '26, and Mia Maze-Ingram '25 leading the team in kills. Addie Lewis '25 earned the spirit ball for her positive attitude and encouragement on the court, while Loen Turko '27 made her debut in her first varsity game. The team will look to build on their successes and address the challenges as they prepare for their next match against Walsh at home on Tuesday, September 24.
