Coach Sean White is entering his third year as an assistant coach for the Boys Basketball team at Western Reserve Academy. Coach White’s playing career includes being a starter for his high school team, which made it to the WPIAL semifinals, and contributing as a practice player for the women’s basketball team at Xavier University.

Before joining WRA, Coach White served as the Associate Head Coach and Brand Manager at the International Sports Academy (ISA) and was an assistant coach at Spire Academy, where he helped lead the team to an Elite Eight appearance at the National Prep School Championships. His coaching background also includes significant accomplishments at his alma mater, North Hills High School in Pittsburgh, where he was instrumental in the team’s three consecutive WPIAL semifinal appearances and their first section title since 1983. Additionally, Coach White gained professional experience with the Erie BayHawks, a D-League affiliate of the New York Knicks, and has coached at IMG Academy, Hoop Group Elite camps and the Adidas Gold Gauntlet.

At WRA, Sean also works as a Learning Support Specialist, advisor and dorm resident in the Athenaeum. His coaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of building strong relationships and trust, encouraging continuous learning and improvement and ensuring that every player enjoys the game. He believes that success naturally follows from thorough preparation, attention to detail and the development of positive habits. In his free time, Sean enjoys spending time with family, golfing, exploring new foods and traveling.
