    Boys Recreational Tennis Coach

Coach Sean Dwyer brings experience and a global perspective to the Boys Recreational Tennis program at Western Reserve Academy. A former varsity soccer and baseball player who served as team captain during his senior year, Coach Dwyer’s passion for athletics continues today as he plays soccer as much as he can – when not coaching tennis!

Since 2009, Coach Dwyer has embraced the opportunity to teach and coach around the world, with experiences in Brazil, China and the United States. As a dedicated physical educator, he has coached a variety of sports, including soccer, baseball, futsal, softball, tennis and swimming, bringing enthusiasm and adaptability to each role.

On campus, Coach Dwyer is a Health and Physical Education teacher who encourages students to stay active and embrace the joy of movement. He and his wife moved to Ohio in 2021 and have quickly fallen in love with the snowy winters and outdoor opportunities the region offers. A Baltimore native, Coach Dwyer frequently visits family there, maintaining close ties to his hometown.

Mr. Dwyer’s coaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of fostering positive and meaningful associations with movement and sport during formative years. He believes that athletics are not just for high school or college but are essential for lifelong wellness. By modeling this in his own life, Coach Dwyer inspires his athletes to see sports as a cornerstone of a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.
