As Athletic Director, Mr. Hutchins' strategic focus is to ensure that WRA students gain a competitive advantage both on and off the field. Prior to joining WRA, Mr. Hutchins served as an Assistant Basketball Coach at George Mason University and was previously the Associate Head Coach at Dartmouth College. A graduate of New Hampton School, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree in History from Plymouth State University, where he also captained the basketball team. After a year as an assistant basketball coach at Williams College, Mr. Hutchins returned to New Hampton as head boys' basketball coach. During his tenure there, he also served in various roles, including history faculty, house parent, advisor and Associate Director of Admission.
Always ready to help with basketball coaching, Hutchins shares, "Coaching is a great opportunity to build character and leadership skill through athletics.We foster a culture of fun and hard work. We want our teams to be connected, present and confident."
A member of the school's executive leadership team, Mr. Hutchins can always be found around campus ensuring our many student-athletes, coaches, visiting teams and guests are supported and thriving. He resides on the WRA campus with his wife, Associate Director of College Counseling Anna Hutchins, their son, Whit, and two dogs, Blue and Blanche.
