Coach Skinner is a passionate coach and educator who brings a wealth of experience to his roles at Western Reserve Academy. With a dynamic background in sports, Mr. Skinner has been a collegiate rower, a high school football and track athlete, and a dedicated casual runner who’s conquered six marathons. His coaching journey spans multiple sports, including football, baseball, crew, tennis, hockey, and track. Currently, he is WRA’s spring track coach, after formerly coaching track at Blair Academy.
Beyond the track, Skinner wears many hats on campus, serving as a Science and Applied Science teacher (he holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering) and is a dorm affiliate in North Hall. He shares his lifelong love of biking with WRA students, regularly sponsoring biking outings across the region, including to the nearby Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Mr. Skinner lives on campus with his wife Wendy and strives to support every athlete in unlocking their full potential. Whether it’s on the track or in the classroom, Coach Skinner’s commitment to excellence and growth, and his warmth and drive, are signature elements of his coaching and teaching style.
