Jon Butensky-Bartlett

Jonathan Butensky-Bartlett (BB) brings a deep-rooted love for soccer to his role as JV Boys Soccer Coach at WRA. With a strong soccer background, Coach BB played for the Buffalo Niagara Soccer Club and Buffalo Premier Soccer Club, was an All-Conference player at Amherst High School in New York, and continued his playing career at the College of Wooster.

Coach BB began his coaching journey in 2013 with the JV Boys Soccer team at Plainfield High School in Indiana before joining WRA in 2014. At WRA, he has also contributed as a coach for Rec Basketball (2014-2015) and Boys Track (Long Distance) from 2016 to 2023.

On campus, Coach BB teaches Chemistry and serves as an advisor to the Jewish Student Union (JSU). He lives on campus with his wife, Kali, their sons Max and Dean, and their golden retriever, Baxter. You’ll often spot him around campus, balancing his busy life with a stroller and a dog in tow. An avid sports fan, he cheers for the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and Cleveland Guardians.

Coach BB’s coaching philosophy emphasizes improvement and playing the game the right way. He believes that focusing on these aspects will naturally lead to positive results. Additionally, he aims to instill a genuine love and appreciation for soccer and sports in general, ensuring that his players value their time on the team and cherish their sporting experiences, regardless of their future athletic pursuits.
