Emily Thews

Coach Emily Thews brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to her role as the JV Girls Lacrosse coach at Western Reserve Academy. A multi-sport athlete in high school, she was the captain of her lacrosse, cross country and basketball teams, earning the title of Academic All-American in lacrosse. She continued her athletic journey at Case Western Reserve University, where she played basketball as a freshman.

Over her 15 years at WRA, Coach Thews has coached at all levels of volleyball, basketball and lacrosse, demonstrating her deep commitment to helping student-athletes thrive both on and off the field. As a coach, she emphasizes the importance of fostering a love for the game while developing skills in teamwork, resilience, leadership and maintaining a positive attitude.

In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Coach Thews is a dedicated Spanish teacher and student advisor, supporting the holistic growth of WRA students. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband and two children.
