Coach Jennifer Haney brings over twenty years of coaching experience to her role as Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Western Reserve Academy. A dedicated field hockey professional, Jennifer played at Kent State University from 1993-1997, where she also earned her degree in Health and Physical Education. Shortly after graduation, she began her coaching career at Hudson High School, where she remained from 1998-2013. She has become a prominent figure in high school field hockey, earning accolades such as the NEOFH Coach of the Year and the NFHS National Coach of the Year.
Raised in Greene, NY, Jennifer’s early love for field hockey was nurtured through local play. Her coaching career flourished at Hudson High School, where she shaped numerous successful seasons and developed a reputation for excellence. Jennifer also holds a master’s degree in Education and currently teaches Health and PE at Hudson Middle School. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys staying fit, cooking, cheering for the Browns and supporting her three athletic sons.
Jennifer’s coaching philosophy emphasizes holistic athlete development, integrating personal growth, academics and life skills. She values honesty, integrity and trust, fostering a team culture that feels like a family. Her approach aims to build character and discipline, ignite a passion for the sport and create lasting team relationships that extend beyond the playing field.
