Jack Thompson brings professional playing experience and a championship background to the Western Reserve Academy soccer program. Thompson played professionally with the Charlotte Independence, where he scored the first goal in club history in 2015, and later with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, appearing in 35 matches as a left back and midfielder.

Before turning professional, Thompson starred at Messiah College, helping lead the program to two NCAA Division III National Championships (2012, 2013). He finished his career as Messiah’s all-time assist leader with 50 assists and earned numerous honors, including d3soccer.com All-American and NCAA Offensive MVP.

A graduate of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, Thompson was named NSCAA All-American and Ohio Player of the Year in 2010 while leading his team to the Division III state championship.

Thompson has coached at Charlotte Country Day, Hudson High School, and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, and currently coaches with Ambassadors FC, working with the ’08 boys team.

His coaching philosophy focuses on developing players with a growth mindset, emphasizing discipline, leadership, and character while striving for excellence on the field. Outside of soccer, Thompson enjoys spending time with his wife, Hannah, and their four children, as well as bowhunting and spending time outdoors.
