The WRA Girls Varsity Tennis team traveled to Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School on Thursday, September 4, and came away with a strong 4–1 victory on the road. The win keeps the Pioneers unbeaten at 4–0 on the 2025 season.
Lela Yajnik '27 set the tone early with a dominant 6–0, 6–0 win at #3 singles over Audrey Fowler. Rithi Hegde '29 followed with a commanding 6–0, 6–2 victory at #1 singles, while Sia Mahesh '27 sealed the team win with a gritty 6–2, 6–0 triumph at #2 singles.
In doubles action, WRA tested new pairings. At #1 doubles, Sasha Hillard '29 (who remains undefeated this season) teamed with Carina Tang '28 to earn a decisive 6–1, 6–2 win over Carly Mroczko and Anna Gallo. Tang improved to 2–0 in varsity play this year. At #2 doubles, newcomers Annie Markarian '27 and Anna Barger '28 made their varsity debut, competing hard before falling 6–1, 6–1 to Brecksville's Janet Haynes and Danielle Zetts.
WRA returns to action on Monday, September 8, when they host Mayfield at home.
