The WRA Girls Varsity Volleyball team earned an impressive 3–0 victory over Laurel on Thursday night, flipping the script after last weekend's loss to the Gators. The Pioneers won in straight sets (25–12, 25–17, 25–23) to improve their record and build momentum heading into the weekend.
Riley Brainerd '28 was voted player of the game, earning the spirit ball after dishing out 22 assists and serving 2 aces. Nicole Neal '26 was dominant at the net, finishing with 12 kills, 4 blocks, and 2 aces, while Amelia Owens '28 added 7 kills and an ace. On the defensive end, Sass Huff '26 anchored the back row as libero, leading the team with strong serve-receive play and key digs throughout the match.
The Pioneers also welcomed back senior captain Maria Moran '26 to the lineup. Her leadership and steady defense were difference-makers in the rematch win.
WRA will next compete on Saturday, September 20, at the Maple Heights Tournament.
