The WRA Girls Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Hiland High School on Sunday, August 31, for a tri-match against Hiland and New Philadelphia. The Pioneers dropped their opening match to host Hiland in two sets (20–25, 13–25) but bounced back with a resilient performance to sweep New Philadelphia (25–22, 25–21).
Nicole Neal '25 led the attack with a strong effort in kills, while setter Riley Brainerd '28 guided the offense with a team-high in assists. Despite a tough start against Hiland, WRA quickly adjusted and showed improved chemistry in their second match, closing out a hard-fought victory.
The Pioneers return to action on Monday, September 1, when they face Lake Ridge Academy on the road.
