The WRA Girls Varsity Tennis hit the road on Thursday and came away with a 5-0 win at Brecksville. The Pioneers improved their record to 14-1 on the season with the win.

All three WRA singles players scored straight set victories. Riya Hegde ' 25 got things rolling with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Brecksville's Corrina Youn at #1 Singles. MIkaela Chirita '26 quickly followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win over the Bees' Kya Emrich at #2 Singles. WRA clinched the match when #3 Singles player Denisse Jimenez-Robles '26 notched a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sandy Costin of Brecksville.

Both doubles teams scored nice wins as well. WRA's #2 Doubles team of Sehar Mahesh '25 and Riya Patel '26 took home a 6-2, 6-3 match over the Bees Kara Sobo and Veronica Morita.
At #1 Doubles, Lela Yajnik '27 and Sia Mahesh '27 scored the final point with a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Brecksville's top 2 singles players Jesse Hansen and Sophia Liu, who teamed up for doubles in this match.

The Girls Varsity Tennis team's next match is on the road vs. Worthington Christian on Saturday, September 28, at 3:00pm.
