The WRA Girls Varsity Tennis team hit the courts Friday for their first match of the season and came away with a hard-fought 5-0 victory over Revere at the WRA Tennis Courts.
Sehar Mahesh '25 and
Lela Yajnik '27 got things rolling with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Bridget Steiner and Ilyana Leenheer at #1 Doubles. This was quickly followed by 2 more wins for for the Pioneers when #2 singles player
Mikaela Chirita '26 defeated Sadhvi Kurra 7-6 (2), 6-1, and
Sia Mahesh '27 prevailed with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Ananya Jayaraman at #3 singles. The fourth point came from
Riya Hegde '25, playing #1 singles, who won a tight contest over Gabi Iler 6-3, 3-6, 10-2. The final point of the night was won at #2 doubles by the WRA duo of
Riya Patel '26 and Lauren Keller '27 who bested Rasika Veerapan and Aleena Siedlecki 7-5, 7-6 (1).
Next up for the WRA girls Varsity and JV tennis team is a home match on Monday, Aug 26 at the WRA courts vs. Kenston. Match time is approximately 430pm.
